LBB Group Retreat 2012 in Innsbruck
This year's group retreat took place in Innsbruck (Austria).
High quality presentations, scientific discussions but also very nice food in nice locations and a lot of fun with river rafting!!!

New LBB members
Vincent Martinez started in October at the lbb. He received the French Engineering Degree at the Université de Technology de Troyes. During his PhD he will focus on designing and microfabricating a novel sensitive self-sensing method allowing the FluidFM to do optimal experimentation in turbid liquids.
Dr. László Demkó joined the lbb team as postdoc. He got his PhD in Physics in 2010 from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and then stayed 2 years at postdoc in at the University of Tokyo at the
Magnetoelectric Spectroscopy Group (Department of Applied Physics). Among others he will focus on building and interfacing neural networks and the study of novel biosensor techniques for diagnostics.

LBB PhD student Martina Hitzbleck appears in Nature.

Congatulations to Norma and Kaori who brillantly defended their PhD Thesis!!!!!
Dr. Norma Graf successfully defended her PhD Thesis on "Functional Surface Coating for Electrochemically Controlled Delivery to Living Cells" on Feb. 9.
Dr. Kaori Sugihara got her brillant PhD Thesis on "Lipids and Polyelectrolytes for High Troughput Ion Channels Sensors" accepted on March 6.


New PhD student
Péter Nagy , who was academic guest at lbb since September 2011, officially started his PhD in the group in February 2012. The topic of his thesis is single cell dielectric spectroscopy.
