Interests and background

Preterm babies are vulnerable, and it is important to monitor biomarkers that can indicate their condition. Unfortunately, their care is further challenged by the current use of invasive blood sampling, which can lead to complications such as anaemia and infection.

In response to these challenges, I am currently focused on developing a non-invasive microfluidic glucose sensor. My research interests include the detection of various biomarkers in premature infants and the investigation of optical and electrochemical detection methods. I'm also interested in the practical applications of biosensors, lab-on-a-chip systems, and non-invasive monitoring techniques.

I hold a BSc in Chemistry (High Technologies) from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and an MSc in Applied Physics and Nanomaterials with a specialization in Biophysics and Molecular Physiology from Kyiv Academic University. During my MSc I completed an internship at the Biomedical Optics Research Laboratory, University Hospital Zurich, where I am currently doing most of my research.
